The assessment system of GPS Kundiya is based on Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE). Scholastic subjects are assessed using two modes: Formative Assessment (FA) and Summative Assessment (SA). Formative Assessment comprises of Class Tests, Homework, Quizzes, Projects, and Assignments as directed throughout the year. Summative Assessment measures how much a student has learnt from the class through an examination/test conducted at the end of a term. GPS Kundiya’s academic year is divided into two terms. Each term will have two FAs and one SAs. The weightage allotted to each term and assessment is as follows:
Different kinds of school activities happen in the school to provide a holistic learning experience to children and engage the community in the school development efforts.
In Kundiya school, the morning assembly is a space to energize, engage in daily activities to get ready for the day. Children engage in different activities like quizzes, news headlines for the day, practice yoga, sing songs, take pledge and close the space with the national anthem. A regional prayer in Garhwali - “Namo bhagwati, Maa Saraswati” is sung in the school everyday.
During the daily prayer gathering, students who show exceptional cleanliness are chosen as the "Stars of the Day" and their photos are posted on the school's social media platforms.
Apart from this, general knowledge and fun activities are also organized.
Yoga sessions are held every Wednesday and Saturday at the school, incorporating practices such as pranayama, various yoga postures (asanas), and meditation. All students eagerly participate in these sessions with enthusiasm.
Each student is assigned a specific plant for which they assume complete responsibility. This entails daily tasks such as watering, weeding, ensuring the plant remains in its designated location, and overall maintenance. Through this assignment, students not only develop a sense of ownership but also utilize it as a mnemonic device for remembering important personal details such as their Aadhaar number, date of birth, registration number, and mobile number. Furthermore, this activity fosters a deeper appreciation for nature and animals among the children.
School Management Committee meeting is organized every month in the school. Children's education is discussed in the meeting. All activities organized by the school are shared with parents. Parents are discussed about improving the social, economic, physical and educational aspects of the school.
Every month, the School Management Committee meetings are held to discuss children's education, share school activities with parents, and delve into detailed conversations about the social, economic, physical, and educational aspects of the parents' involvement in the school.
Supplementary classes are arranged for students who encounter challenges grasping certain topics during regular class sessions. Additionally, preparations for the entrance examination of Navodaya Vidyalaya are also underway.
Every day, students are served a tasty and healthy lunch following the set menu. The meal includes various pulses, vegetables, and nutritious milk. Additionally, egg curry is provided to the children once a week. Furthermore, students receive an iron tablet weekly and are given albendazole medication every six months.
